Tray Cable (Type TC ) Unshielded and Foil Shielded
Type TC Tray Cable Scope:
This specification covers multiconductor cables having VW-1 TFFN or THHN/THWN (PVC/Nylon) conductors with an overall polyvinyl chloride(PVC) jacket, conforming to Article 318 Cable Trays and Article 340 Power and Control Cable Type TC of the National Electrical Code, and Standard 1277 of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. Meets the requirements of ICEA T-29-520 and T-30-520 flame tests as well as the 70,000 BTU Cable Tray Propagation Test per IEEE-383. Rated 600 volts, 90 C dry and 75 C wet.
Type TC Tray Cable Applications:
UL listed and OSHA acceptable. Recognized for use in Class 1 or 2, Division 2 hazardous locations and for installation in trays, wireways, troughs, ducts, conduit and channels. Specifically approved for direct burial, wet or dry locations and outdoors in cable trays where a sunlight resistant rating is required. Designed for control, power, lighting, relay, traffic controls relay, signals and telemetering.

Soft, bare annealed copper per ASTM B-3
18/16 AWG - TFN
14/12/10 AWG - THHN/THWN-2
Type TC Tray Cable Conductor Jacket:
18/16 AWG - Clear polyamide (Nylon) jacket per UL Standard 62
14/12/10 AWG - Clear nylon per UL Standard 83.
Type TC Tray Cable Overall Jacket:
18/16 AWG - Sunlight resistant PVC rated at 90 C per UL 1277
14/12/10 AWG - Sunlight resistant PVC rated at 90 C per UL 1277
Type TC Tray Cable Insulation:
18/16 AWG - Heat and moisture resistant Polyvinylchoride(PVC) per UL Standard 62 14/12/10 AWG - Heat and moisture resistant Polyvinylchoride(PVC) per UL Standard 83
Type TC Tray Cable Assembly:
Conductors cabled together with or without fillers as required, to form a round, copact cable core and with a binder tape. A nylon ripcord is inserted under the jacket for ease of stripping.
Type TC Tray Cable Color Coding:
ICEA Method 3 Table K-2, except colors and numbers are printed on solid base colors for easy identification.
